Vocalist & Pianist
As a musician, Sam gravitates towards work that utilizes improvisation and/or extended techniques. In particular, their vocal practice, with its focus on both the most mundane and the most extreme realms of the human voice, draws inspiration from Caroline Shaw, Joan La Barbara, and Tanya Tagaq and strongly interrelates with Sam’s compositional practice.
